Are you someone who likes listening more than talking and who enjoys knocking information into shape? We seek a volunteer in the WCVS office to help us contact voluntary groups and charities, talk with people who have become volunteers and help us keep on top of our database and network events. We are a small friendly team (some tea addictions but nothing serious) and we seek your help one or two mornings a week. You will be someone who is well organised, can use a computer and is good chatting to people on the phone. more

It's encouraging in these hard times that more and more companies are taking their Corporate Social Responsibility seriously which is good news for voluntary and community groups seeking to develop relationships and links. Lloyds Banking Group are offering community and voluntary groups the chance to link up with them on volunteering projects via their website. Community Organisations, can apply from the home page. Once organisations have been approved, they’ll be invited to set themselves up on the site. more

Get your thinking caps on. The Community Central Panel are about to launch their new grants round. This will make funding available specifically for projects in the Central ward area of Worthing. In the 2011/12 round grants have covered Black History events, young people's programmes, community arts skills and activities, multi-cultural initiatives, improvements to community facilities and neighbourhood voluntary action. Voluntary and community groups planning projects in the Central ward area are advised to start thinking about work they want to do and the costs associated with it. more
