Free Home Visit from Warmer West Sussex

Warmer West Sussex is a winter warmth and well-being scheme. It is funded by the Department of Health and is a partnership between the seven local councils in West Sussex.

Climate Energy will be leafleting residents in target areas of Adur and Worthing that have been identified as suffering high fuel poverty - i.e. parts of Central, Heene, Selden, Widewater, Hillside, Southlands, Eastbrook - starting at the end of this week. They will then follow up with a visit starting next week. Residents can also book an appointment by calling the freephone number and although the target areas are prioritised if other residents call they will get a visit too. If time allows there may also be visits in Cokeham, St Mary’s and Goring as they are known to have high fuel poverty in parts, even though they are not areas of highest deprivation.

Please let your teams or contacts who live or work in the target areas know about the scheme which runs until March 31st 2012.

An energy expert from Climate Energy will visit home to show you some simple energy saving changes you can make to keep warm in the cold weather. This will not only help save you as much
as £200** every year on your gas and electricity bills, but will keep you healthy as well.

Worthing Borough Council is working with Climate Energy to make sure local people get all the support they can to save energy and live in a warm home. This will help prevent serious health problems caused by the cold, such as flu and heart problems.
