Prevention and Wellbeing Grants Programme
The Prevention & Wellbeing Grants Programme for 2012/2013 is now open to applications from Voluntary and Community organisations and groups until Friday 2nd March, 2012. The total funding available is £190k and applications are invited from across West Sussex.
The programme funds start up costs for services and activities for Adults including Older People, which contribute, at a local level, to the objectives of the Prevention and Wellbeing Agenda:
- Social contact and stimulation
- Activity and exercise
- Occupational/educational activities
- Peer support groups
- Maintaining or restoring independence
WSCC would be especially pleased to hear from organisations that provide innovative, community based activities for people that enable social opportunities for participants to make friends and see people. You may like to look at the Day Activities Consultation Report undertaken in 2011 by WSCC, which indicates the types of activities that local people have said they would like to take part in. This can be found on the WSCC website at this address; www.westsussex.gov.uk/living/social_care_and_health/adults/day_activities_and_opportuniti/developing_day_services_and.aspx
Grant applications are limited to an upper value of £5k. Please note that applications in respect of services for Children and People with Learning Difficulties are outside of this process. Feedback and payments to organisations would follow in August, following the evaluation of applications by the relevant County Local Committees (CLC). For an application pack please contact the relevant officer either by telephone or by emailing your name, organisation, address and contact details. For Worthing this is David Richardson, 01273 268847 or email David.richardson@westsussex.gov.uk
