Worthing Kids and Dapper Snapper Info Day

Worthing Kids and Dapper Snapper are putting on an Information Day on Saturday Feb 25th 2012, 9am-4.15pm at Oak Grove College, Worthing.

They are a locally based support group of families all of whom have children with additional needs at varying ages from 0 to 15 years. They include children with Downs syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and numerous other undiagnosed/unique conditions. They come together every 6 weeks for friendship, fun , information and to share their experiences. They also have their own swimming club that runs every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays to help children to learn to swim, enjoy the water, gain confidence and to be able to gain a major life skill.

The day will consist of speakers and  information tables giving details of the support and services available locally, in the afternoon there will be three separate sessions as follows;

  • The Down Syndrome Association will be there to speak about teenage issues through to adulthood, including work opportunities
  • For parents of children with Downs Syndrome aged 0-10 years there will be speakers on speech therapy and education
  • The third room will be a more general speech therapy talk and advice from a behavioural specialist

Lunch and refreshments will be included. Free Parking available
