VACANCY - Volunteer Centre Organiser (Maternity Cover)
Maternity Leave Cover for 52 weeks from March, 2010
NJC scale 26 £22,221 per annum
17hrs. per week pro rata £10,210 per annum
The volunteer Organiser provides a brokerage service for the recruitment and retention of volunteers and is part of a county-wide volunteering service. A minimum of one year's experience of working with volunteers preferably in a coordinating role within the voluntary and community sector is essential, along with sound communication skills, patience, approachability, good computer skills and access to a car.

Worthing Volunteer Centre is part of WCVS and is accredited by Volunteering England. We advise and support local people and voluntary groups on volunteering, promote good practice and provide a service to over 150 local voluntary groups helping them to find volunteers.

We produce a  twice yearly Volunteering Opportunities List containing hundreds of volunteer roles collated from over 150 local voluntary organisations. You can also see a range of these opportunities on the Do It website.

If you would like to explore becoming a volunteer please call in to the Volunteer Centre to obtain this list have a chat, and talk to us about the wide range of choices. You can also download the list from this page or you can call us and we will post a copy to you.

There are literally hundreds of opportunities for you to choose from in  diverse  areas of work where the giving of your time will be very much appreciated. This can also help you to gain and maintain skills and meet other people.  The voluntary and community groups who require volunteers will be more than pleased to welcome you and you will be contributing to the wellbeing of the community.
